Zoe Speaks for the Sector

WISE Academies is delighted that our CEO, Zoe Carr OBE, is privileged to have been elected to the Confederation of School Trusts (CST) Policy Advisory Board.   The CST Advisory Group acts as a sounding board for emerging policy at a national level.

The CST policy advisory group is elected by CST members following nominations from school trusts. Membership is made up of two accounting officers and one executive leader from each Department for Education region, and two trustees and two specialist leaders from trusts nationally. Additional group members may be appointed by CST to ensure broad representation across demography, trust size, and expertise.

Zoe has been CEO of WISE Academies since 2013 and has overseen the growth of the Trust which now spans five Local Authority areas.   Zoe will use this position to advocate for our North East region and celebrate our collective great practice.

More recently Zoe was asked by the Minister for School Standards to serve on a new Multi-Academy Trust CEO Advisory Group, supported by CST, to enable meaningful discussions and provide advice on matters relating to the government’s Achieving and Thriving pillar of the Opportunity Mission.  Zoe was one of the MAT CEOs chosen as a member of this Advisory Group and contribute her expertise as a leader in the school system.  She will use her experience and knowledge as a representative from the Trust sector to offer feedback, insights and advice on how the government should drive excellence for all our children.
