WISE Academies are pleased to announce that we are expecting another school to become part of our growing family of schools this September. Ashley Primary, based in South Shields, will be the 13th school in our MAT, and will join our South of Tyne hub of schools. We’re excited to begin working with the headteacher, Mrs Todd, the staff, pupils and their families and the local community.
In February this year we reached an agreement with DfE to sponsor the school. Work is ongoing to get the school ready to formally become part of the Trust in the new academic year, from when it will be known as Ashley Academy. Leaders and staff at the school and the Trust are excited to work together: the school has many strengths and is highly regarded by families in the local community. The Trust is confident that by working alongside our other schools and wider team we can build on its strengths and secure further improvements. The school have also worked with a design team to refresh their school logo – their new logo is revealed below for the first time!
We’ve already started lots of work in preparation for the school joining us. Ashley has recently had a monitoring visit by Ofsted, and some of the work we’ve started has been identified within the report. It’s attached here. We’re confident this is the beginning of a really successful partnership!
